Alicante Bouschet

Arinto
WHITE GRAPE. Is an indigenous grape of Portugal that produce a very good age-worthy white wines, lemon zest, grapefruit, hazelnut. Mostly produced in the Vinho Verde Region of Portugal.


Assyrtiko
WHITE GRAPE. Indigenous to the Island of Santorini in Greece. Being used for blending with Sauvignon Blanc. Touch of lime, passion fruit, saline. Very high in acidity, medium to high alcohol.
Barbera
RED GRAPE. Is an Italian red variety mostly cultivated in Piedmont. Very consistent an affordable wine with high acidity and full body with touches of blackberry, licorice, dried herbs, black peppers


Blaufrankisch
RED GRAPE. Mostly grown in Hungary and have very consistent acidity with high tannins. Blackberry, black cherry, allspice, dark chocolate, and pepper. Spicy character.
Brachetto
RED GRAPE. Mostly from Piedmont in Italy, rear sweet that keep the sweetness and medium low acidity. Orange zest, black currant, apricot. Also highly aromatic sparkling wines from this grape.


Cabernet Franc
RED/DARK GRAPE. Used a lot to be blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the Bordeaux area, it brings additional aromas of tobacco, raspberry, bell pepper, violets, bell pepper. Produced in many countries around the world.
Cabernet Sauvignon
RED /DARK GRAPE. The most recognized and popular grape around the world, it is in all major vineyards and is originated in Bordeaux, France. It is a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Black cherry, black currant, cedar, baking spices, in cool climate brings bell pepper and asparagus, different growing regions bring different aromas to the Cabernet Sauvignon. High tannins and body with medium high alcohol.


Carignan
RED/DARK GRAPE. Originated in Spain but is widely grown in the Languedoc-Rousillon region of France. Dried cranberry, raspberry tobacco leaf, baking spices. Grenache and Syrah are considered best blending with this grape.
Carmenere
RED GRAPE. Original from Medoc, Bordeaux, France. Mostly planted in Chile where is widely used for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon. In recent years the Chilean wines are being gaining international market due to the good quality and affordable wines. Raspberry, bell pepper, black plum, vanilla, also be reminiscent of dark chocolate, tobacco, and leather. Good to drink when the wine is at young age.


Castelao
RED GRAPE. Almost 100% of this grape is planted in Portugal, often used in the production of Port wine. Is also called Periquita in Portugal. Plum, strawberry, dried meat, mocha.
Cava
WHITE GRAPE. Very popular in Spain with Spanish sparkling. Quince, lime, apple, almond. Very light, fruity, and citric with typical bubbles of a young white wine.


Chardonnay
WHITE GRAPE. Originated in the Burgundy, France region is probably the second most popular grape in the world. It is used in Champagne with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for the famous sparkling wine. Very famous Chardonnay is produced in Chablis, Burgundy and in recent years the California Chardonnays are becoming famous. Yellow apple, many flavors are associated with the wine from different terroirs, starfruit, pineapple, vanilla, butter.
Chenin Blanc
WHITE GRAPE. Also known as Pineau de la Loire. Originated in the Loire Region of France can produce various sparkling wines and lean, dry whites. Very well planted in South Africa where is known as Steen. The juice is sweet but very high in acidity with a full body and fruity palate. Quince, green apple, pear, honey, pineapple.


Cinsault
RED GRAPE. Very well planted in the Languedoc-Rousillon region of France, use in Rhone blends of Rose. It is also blend often with Grenache. Expect fruits like raspberry, red currant, cherry with violet aromas.
Dolcetto
RED GRAPE. Mostly grown in the northern part of Italy named Piedmont and the name means little sweet one. Plum, blackberry, cocoa, black pepper, violet. They can be tannic and fruity with moderate levels of acidity.


Colombard
WHITE GRAPE. It was traditionally grown in Charentes and Gascony for distilling into Cognac and Amargnac. Mostly produced in South Africa, United States and France. Green apple, honeydew, white peach, lemongrass and almond.

Dolcetto
RED GRAPE. Mostly grown in the northern part of Italy named Piedmont and the name means little sweet one. Plum, blackberry, cocoa, black pepper, violet. They can be tannic and fruity with moderate levels of acidity.

WHITE GRAPE. Widely cultivated in the coast of Campania, Italy. Lemon, peach, honey. Very well consumed in Southern Italy with seafood.

WHITE GRAPE. Grown throughout Portugal and well known for producing very floral and spicy aromas. Lime, peach, honeysuckle. Often with delicate exotic fruity notes.

RED GRAPE. Originated in Sicily and produced light bodies reds with a spicy note. Strawberries, white pepper, tobacco.


Friulano
WHITE GRAPE. It is also known as Sauvignonasse from the region of Friuli that have border with Slovenia. Green apple, green pear, white peach, crushed gravel.
Furmint
WHITE GRAPE. Is the most famous Hungarian grape that is used in the making of the famous Tokaji dessert wine. It is produced in a wide range from bone dry to very sweet wines. Pears, lime, apricots, cinnamon.


Gamay
RED GRAPE. A purple color grape mostly grown in Beaujolais region of France in the Loire Valley. High level of acidity and light body, it is fruity with floral notes. Sour cherries, black pepper, dried berries, bananas.
Garganega
WHITE GRAPE. An Italian grape that mostly grown in the Veneto region in the northeast of Italy. Very neutral flavored wines that have potential to improve over time in the bottle. Peach, honeydew, marjoram.

PINK/RED GRAPE. Originated mainly from Italy is widely grown Alsace, Germany, New Zealand, USA, Switzerland. It is a very aromatic grape that performs better in cooler climates. Rose, ginger, grapefruit, lychee, passion fruit.
Grechetto
WHITE GRAPE. Originated in Greece, very well planted in the Umbria region of central Italy, commonly blended with Chardonay, high levels of sugar when pick up late and able to use for dessert wines. White peach, strawberry, wildflowers.


Greco
WHITE GRAPE. Morey likely to be originated in Greece but is mostly planted in the Italian region of Campania, very aromatic. Peach, fresh green foliage and herbal notes.
Grenache/Garnacha
RED GRAPE. More likely originated in Spain where is called Garnacha and is very well used to blend with Tempranillo. Very famous also in France where is used in The Chateau-du-Pape wines in the region of Rhone. Raspberry and strawberry, leather, dried herbs with white pepper spice notes.

WHITE GRAPE. Originated in Spain is very well related to Grenache/Garnacha and is mostly planted in the Rhone valley region of France and Catalonia region in Spain. High alcohol and low acidity with citrus and herbaceous notes. Pear, lemon zest, honeysuckle. Most of the time it is used for blending with other varieties.
Gruner Veltliner
WHITE GRAPE. More likely originated in Austria and is planted in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia. Very high acidity wines with mineral notes and citrus peach, pears and spice white pepper notes and tobacco.


Lambrusco
RED GRAPE. Originated in Italy and very popular with different expression of the grapes in the region of Emilia-Romana where a very expressive sparkling is produced. It has notes of strawberries and blackberries.
Malbec
RED GRAPE. Originated in the Burgundy region of France and is most planted today in Argentina. Most critics refer to the Mendoza area as the best expression of Malbec. Very dark inky and intense wine. Malbec is widely used in blends in the Bordeaux region of France too. Typically, a plum like flavor, blackberry, vanilla, dark chocolate

Melon de Bourgogne
WHITE GRAPE. Originated in the region of Burgundy in France, highly grown in the Loire Valley and in the USA. Very popular Muscadet wine. Very high acidity with touches of lime, green apple, pears.


Mencia
RED GRAPE. Originated in Spain and grown mostly in the Northwestern part of the Iberic peninsula (Galicia & Portugal). It is a light pale color wine with notes of cherry, pomegranate, blackberry, licorice with medium high tannins and medium high acidity.
Merlot
RED/DARK BLUE GRAPE. Originated in France and is used in the very famous blends of Bordeaux, France. Create full body wines with high alcohol and tannins, cherry, blackberry, plum, chocolate.


Montepulciano
RED GRAPE. Originated in Italy and today’s one of the most popular wines if Montepulciano de Abruzzo in the central/east region of Italy. Medium high tannins, medium body, Blackberry, red plum, baking spices. Very good quality wine.
Mourvèdre/Monastrell
RED GRAPE. Originated in the Mediterranean coast of Spain and is very popular in the Alicante region of Spain, also grown in the Rhone and Provence regions of France. This grape tent to produce high tannin wines with full body and medium high levels of alcohol. Black peppers, blackberry, dark chocolate, tobacco.

Muscat Blanc

Pinot Blanc
WHITE GRAPE. It may be originated in the Alsace region of France where is producing still white wines and sparkling, medium low acidity, medium alcohol with fruity aromas of pears, citrus fruit, lemon zest and some floral characteristics.


Pinot Gris
WHITE GRAPE. This grape has gray to pinkish brown in its color. Originated in the Burgundy region of France. Very well use for different wines around the world. It is also named Pinot Grigio in Italy. The flavors can range from tropical fruits to white peach.
Pinot Noir
RED GRAPE. Originated in the region of Burgundy in France, this grape is probably the most popular around the world for light red wines and very well planted in France and USA where is popular on the Oregon region. In its perfect climatic condition, it has characteristic of strawberries, cherry, raspberries, mushrooms, meaty and vanilla.


Pinotage
RED GRAPE. Originated in South Africa. The wines produced from this grape produce a bolder wine with high tannins, full body and high alcohol with mainly black fruits with hints of bananas and tropical fruits also earthy and menthol aromas.
Riesling
WHITE GRAPE. Original from Rhine, Germany. A very popular grape mostly grown in Germany with its very popular Riesling wines that bring high acidity with very pronounced fruits flavors of green apples, limes, also develops honey and jasmine notes.

RED GRAPE. Original from the region of Umbria in Italy and produce a very deep red with full body and very high tannins, red fruits with cinnamon, black peppers. It is known for being more tannic that Tannat.


Sangiovese
RED GRAPE. More likely originated in the region of Tuscany, Italy, and is the most popular grape use in the Tuscan Chianti wines. Red fruits with cherry and earthy aromas. High acidity and medium high tannins characterized their wines.
Sauvignon Blanc

Tannat
REDC GRAPE. Originated in the southwest region of France and cis one of the most tannic grape that exist. It is commonly used on blends with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Very heavily cultivated in Uruguay where it produced different flavors to the wines. Full body and high tannins, very fruity with touches of licorice smoke.


Tempranillo/Tinto Fino
RED DARK GRAPE. Original from the Rioja region in Spain and is the most popular and well-known grape of Spain. It is very commonly blended with Garnacha in the Rioja region and usually aged in American and French barrels. Medium high tannins, medium full body and balanced acidity and alcohol. Aromas and flavors from berries, plum, tobacco, vanilla, leather and herbs.
Torrontes
WHITE/GREEN GRAPE. This variety is mostly produced in Argentina and the wines have characteristics of fresh, aromatic with moderate acidity and peach, apricots, rose.


Touriga Nacional
RED GRAPE. Original from the Duero region in Portugal where is mostly produced and used in port wines. It produced full body wines with high alcohol and high tannins. Very aromatic with touches of blueberries, violet, mint.
Trebbiano Toscano

Viura/Macabeo
WHITE GRAPE. Original from Spain where is mostly cultivated. Some critics call the Rioja version of Chardonnay for its acidity and young wines, also used to make Cava wines.


Xinomavro
RED GRAPE. Original from Greece and is the most important red wine there. High acidity and tannins with. Very similar to wines made from Nebbiolo. Very fruity wines with red fruits and tobacco.
